Evernote Template – Bible Study Passage Analysis

evernote Evernote Template Bible Study Passage AnalysisA bunch of us have started looking at various Bible passages and are using a Bible Study format put out by the Navigators and other groups.

I thought I’d create it as an Evernote note file so that anyone using Evernote and a mobile Bible reader could import it and use it.

Download the Evernote Template from here
(Downloading to Dropbox makes it easier to access from various devices running Evernote.)

Once saved to your computer here’s instructions for various operating systems I use:

Windows

  • Open Evernote
  • Select File>Import>Evernote Export Files…
  • Browse to and select the downloaded Evernote file “Bible Study.enex”
  • Evernote will create a new notebook called “Imported Notes” and place the file there
  • Relocate the Bible Study note to wherever you want

Mac OS X Lion

  • Browse to and double click the downloaded Evernote file “Bible Study.enex”
  • Evernote will open and ask if you want to import the file and the tags. make your choice and click Continue
  • Evernote creates a new Notebook called “Import Bible Study” and places the Bible Study note there
  • Relocate the Bible Study note to wherever you want

Android

  • Its not possible ot import into the Android version of Evernote – so you will need to import into a Windows/Mac version then let the Android Evernote app sync to add the file

iPad

  • havent tested if I can import yet, but itll sync like Android otherwise

TIP: When your familiar with the template structure just delete the question prompts to shorten the note length.

Ongoing Prezi – tools for teaching and learning

I thought I’d embed a Prezi file Ive been developing to curate websites and web tools which I think are helpful in learning and teaching.  Its not complete, in that its not a presentation, but feel free to copy what Ive got and add or modify it.

Setup Telstra ZTE MF626 USB Modem on Macbook Pro OS X Lion

Screen Shot 2012 01 26 at 3.42.54 PM Setup Telstra ZTE MF626 USB Modem on Macbook Pro OS X Lion Spent some time today trying to set up my daughters Telstra ZTE USB MF626 modem on her new Macbook Pro 13 laptop.  NOt exactly easy and Im not sure Ive got the best fix, but its the only way I could get it to work.

  1. I plugged it in and installed the software which appears on the disk image mounted after the USB modem is inserted. Telstra Turbo Connection Manager version M02
  2. After restarting and plugging in the modem the software started up but couldnt detect the modem and the connect button remained greyed out.

  3. In System Preferences > Network Settings, the modem wasnt even listed.
  4. A search online indicated that for OS X Lion I needed to install the latest software from Telstra which included new drivers from ZTE (maybe 64bit??).
  5. So I downloaded the new software from a link here – http://www.zte.com.au/telstra/faqs.htm
  6. Then I used AppZapper to remove the previously installed software from Telstra which I installed at step 1.
  7. Then I installed the new software and restarted.
  8. After restarting I inserted the modem, the new software started up and the Macbook mounted the disk image which is installed on the USB modem by default, which I ignored.  But the new software failed also to detect the modem I had plugged in.
  9. I ejected the disk image which is installed on the USB modem, then within about 5 seconds the new software detected the modem and I was able to connect.

I cant work out whats happening or causing this but the workaround seems to be ejecting that disk image before the USB modem is detected by the software.

Works now!
